  1. Cut the potatoes into half and boil it in pressure cooker for 2 whistles or till they become soft but not mushy.

  2. Grind onions into coarse paste in a mixie jar.

  3. Take a pan, add oil as it gets heated add mustard, cumin, urad dal, channa dal, red chilli, curry leaves.

  4. Now add grounded onion paste to the seasoning and let it cook for 5-8 minutes.Add Tamarind juice extracted by soaking tamarind.Cook till raw smell of onions disappear.

  5. Add boiled potatoes cut into medium pieces and cook it with covered lid for 10 minutes.

  6. At this stage add the powdered jaggery, ghee, elachi and cinnamon for flavourful taste. Garnish with coriander leaves, keep covered for 5 minutes in low flame and then switch off the flame. The tasty pulusu is ready to be served with hot rice or roti.
