Instructions
  1. Take a frying pan and add oil to it. firstly add mustard seeds and let them crackle ,followed by cumin seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and finely chopped onion and saute them well till onions turn translucent.
  2. Peel off the beetroot and chop it in a chopper or cut into small pieces with help of a knife.
  3. Add the chopped beetroot to the pan and mix them well.
  4. Add salt and turmeric powder and give it a good mix. Cover it and mix it in intervals of 2-3 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes, check if beetroot is cooked else cover it again for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add red chilli powder and fry it for a minute.
  7. Serve it hot with rice or roti.
Recipe Notes

If we use chopper to chop the beetroot into small pieces beetroot will be cooked quickly and the beetroot will also not smell odd.
