Frying Method

Either deep fry or shallow fry can be done to prepare these vada. Also known as cutlets when adding potatoes. Different methods are available to prepare. Trying different recipes always keeps me going, this is my version.

Time Taken

Hardly takes 15 minutes for all, sudden guests can also be treated with this feast.

Ingredients

  1. Take the corn kernels and ground them to paste. (Just one round of mixer will be enough)

  2. Grind cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chillies in the mixer grinder.

  3. Add this mixture to the grounded corn.

  4. Add corn starch powder, salt and some curry leaves to this mixture and mix it well till the mixture forms a dough.

  5. Cut a thick cover for patting the vadas. Also take a bowl of water and in another bowl take some oil for applying it on thick cover.

  6. Heat oil in a medium-high flame in a skillet.
  7. Take a thick cover, apply oil to it and pat some mixture to this in the form of a vada(pressed round ball) and add it to the heated oil in the skillet.

  8. As it turns golden brown, flip it and fry the other side. Remove the excess oil using a paper towel.

  9. Serve it hot with tomato sauce.

Recipe Notes

You can add some rice flour, for the corn vada to be little crispy.
